Some Do’s And Don’ts for Whole House Inverter (Part I)

Whenever I attend any seminar either as a speaker or as a listener, I always hear the questions like, “what should we do?” or “what we should avoid?” in regards to a whole house inverter. Every person buying an inverter is not a techie or an expert of invertors, they take guidance from family, friends and then make their decision to buy the product and when the product starts showing discrepancies, then they think about asking the expert about the necessary information they need to remember. By listening to all those questions or queries by the people I have created a list of do’s and don’ts

·      Make sure that you “do” your research before buying any power inverter be it china power inverter or anything else, but research is the deal breaker. Everyone loves to surf on the internet, so search at your favourite place. Read the catalogues product reviews at various sites or discussion forums and then make your decision.

·         “Don’t” throw the user manual in trash, it is a useful item at the time of connecting the inverter and the wires. These manuals hold a lot of useful information and in some manuals, the whole procedure of connecting the inverters is described in details along with pictures. So don’t waste it and read it carefully.

·         “Do” keep your inverter in the close proximity of the battery and connect it with the most heavy cable you find.

·         However, “Don’t” keep the inverter and battery in the same compartment, although you can if you cover it in its own mini compartment with a vent. As you have used a good quality wire so the chances of fire or explosion are not there but still the gases released from the battery can damage the internal engineering of the inverter.

·         Your inverter is like you. So “do” treat it in the same manner. They also need fresh air every now and then, so try to keep the inverter in a ventilated space after securing it from the harmful elements present in the surroundings.
